Volunteers come to L’Arche Stratford from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Some volunteers are long-term members of a community who develop deep and meaningful connections with other members. Other volunteers may come for a season or a project.
Here are some examples of volunteer activities:
- Serve as a volunteer board member
- Preparing and sharing a meal in a house
- Activity or program support
- Helping at community events
- Driving people to/from community activities and events
- Maintenance or gardening
- One-on-one peer friendships
- Fundraising support
- Sitting on a committee
- Special projects
What to expect?
Prospective volunteers will have an opportunity to share more about their interests, goals, gifts, and availability during an interview, and a match to an available volunteer opportunity will be made.
Ongoing volunteers complete a screening and yearly training process. The skills you learn as a volunteer with L’Arche Stratford can help you build your portfolio for future volunteer and employment roles!
Special projects and event support can be ideal for those looking for short-term opportunities (great for high school students completing community service hours!)
