Volunteers come to L’Arche Stratford from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Some volunteers are long-term members of a community who develop deep and meaningful connections with other members. Other volunteers may come for a season or a project.
Examples of volunteer opportunities include:
- Serving as a Board member
- Preparing and sharing a meal in a houseÂ
- Supporting activities or programs
- Assisting community eventsÂ
- Driving community members to and from activities and eventsÂ
- Helping with property maintenance or gardeningÂ
- Building friendships
- Support fundraising events
- Participate on a committeeÂ
- Contributing to special projects
What to expect
Prospective volunteers will have a chance to share their interests, goals, gifts, and availability during an interview. From there, we’ll work together to find a volunteer opportunity that’s a good fit.
Ongoing volunteers take part in a screening process and complete yearly training. The skills you gain through volunteering with L’Arche Stratford can strengthen your portfolio for future volunteer or employment ventures.
If you’re looking for short‑term opportunities, special projects and event support are great options.
